The following suggestions will help to draw your attention to points which may prove beneficial to you after your treatment
-
Rest and relax. Practice deep breathing and relaxation techniques. This will help ensure that the body is able to heal itself sufficiently.
-
Drink water to help eliminate wastes, promoting natural healing.
-
Eat only small meals. Eating large meals will cause blood to be diverted to the gut to help with the digestion of food. The demands of digestion will divert energy away from the healing processes. Light meals such as fruit and vegetables make ideal snacks.
-
Avoid coffee, tea and cola as they contain caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant and therefore will not help you to relax. Herbal or fruit teas would be a good alternative.
-
Do not smoke or drink alcohol for about 24 hours, as the treatment is a detoxifying one and smoking and drinking will introduce toxins into the body.
-
Try to avoid any stressful situations.
-
You may need to empty your bladder more often than usual – this is quite normal.
-
You may feel more tired and possibly off- colour initially, which again is quite normal.
-
If essential oils have been used in your treatment, avoid skin washing and bathing for at least 4 hours to allow full absorption into the body. They can carry out their therapeutic effects for up to 8 hours afterwards.
-
Avoid the direct exposure to strong sunlight following the use of any phototoxic oils (if Bergamot, Lemon or Orange have been used)
-
It is suggested not to use perfumed products or hair removal during this period.
-
If you are diabetic, please remember to check your glucose levels.
For facials, follow all of the above and note the following suggestions.
-
Any redness is normal
-
Protect your skin if you go out into the sun
-
Use moisturiser after you wash your face
-
If you use cosmetic brushes, make sure they are clean before applying make-up
